2010 EUROPEAN FORUM ON URBAN FORESTRY
The first announcement for the 13th European Forum on Urban Forestry, co-sponsored by IUFRO Urban Forestry, has been released and is availble at tinyurl.com/efuf2010. Next year’s EFUF will be held in Tulln, Austria, during May 25-29. Central theme of the event will be “Urban People Meet Urban Forests”. The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences SLU has announced a position as senior lecture in Landscape Planning specialized in the use of plants in the urban outdoor environment. This includes teaching and research on the connection between plant choice, growth site and technical/functional demands in the urban and peri-urban environment. NEW PUBLICATIONS
NEW ISSUE OF URBAN FORESTRY & URBAN GREENING
Issue 4, Volume 8 of the scientific journal ‘Urban Forestry & Urban Greening’ (UFUG) has been published. Articles in this issue look at, for example, the restorative properties of small urban parks, contracting out in green space management, and the impact of solar radiation on green roof plants. Access the table of contents at: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/16188667/ Since the start of Volume 8, UFUG is included in Web of Science (formerly: ISI-listed). Most universities encourage publication in Web of Science journals.
